 We know that the oxidative burning loss of the billet in the forging heating furnace is mainly affected by the heating temperature, heating time and furnace atmosphere. So what are the methods to reduce the burning loss? Simply put, you can start from the following points:

1. Air-fuel ratio

The air-fuel ratio is generally controlled at 0.95-1.05 to eliminate the oxidizing atmosphere as much as possible.

2. Furnace temperature

The furnace temperature is not a decisive factor for good or bad. High temperature, fast oxidation speed, low temperature, heating time will increase, and various materials and conditions have specific indicators.

3. Furnace temperature distribution

A uniform and reasonable furnace temperature distribution can reduce the amount of oxidation to a certain extent.

4. Heating furnace burner

The burner nozzles of the forging heating furnace are generally paired, one sprays the combustion aid and the other sprays the fuel. Generally, the nozzles close to the material spray the fuel, which can also reduce oxidation.

5. Oxygen-enriched combustion

During the study of oxyfuel combustion technology, it was found that when the oxygen enrichment was 28%-30%, not only did it not increase the oxidation but decreased.
