Looking at the refractory materials used in the steel rolling furnace in my country, ordinary clay bricks and high alumina bricks, ramming materials and plastics, ordinary castables and high-performance castables have been used successively. The changes in refractory requirements reflect the demand for energy saving and environmental protection in my country's steel production.

In recent years, relevant domestic refractory research and production units have made research on refractory materials for steel rolling furnaces, which have made considerable progress in refractory materials for heating furnaces. The technical level of refractory materials for heating furnaces in my country is close to the world's advanced level.

At present, refractories for steel rolling furnaces in my country are transitioning to a new period, namely the period of intelligent quick-drying castables and quick-drying self-flowing castables.
